National Award for Coach Trimble

Donald Trump wasn’t the only candidate to win a national election in November after trailing in the polls a month earlier. On Nov. 21, Jenks’ Allan Trimble learned he was one of the two winners in U.S. Cellular’s Most Valuable Coach voting. He will be honored on the field during the Under Armour High School All-America Game on Jan. 1 in Orlando, Florida. Trimble was fifth in the voting when the 15 finalists were named on Oct. 20 but climbed into the lead two weeks later. The win continued the strong show of support from the Jenks community and others for Trimble after he was diagnosed with ALS in July. Trimble led Jenks to an 11-1 record in his 21st season as the Trojans’ coach. During halftime of a quarterfinal home playoff win, he was honored as Jenks Mayor Kelly Dunkerley read a proclamation on Allan Trimble Day.
